Microsuction Technique and Safety Assurance
Hearology stands out as one of the few audiology clinics in the UK with services externally validated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This ensures stringent standards of safety, hygiene, and clinical quality.
The CQC routinely inspects health and social care providers to confirm compliance with essential safety and quality requirements. However, CQC regulation is not mandatory for ear cleaning services in the UK. At Hearology, we voluntarily opted for CQC inspections to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to exceptional safety, hygiene, and clinical standards. This sets us apart from many providers who do not adhere to these rigorous benchmarks.
If you’re searching for reliable ear wax removal in Central London, Hearology is the clinic to trust. We provide expert hearing tests and microsuction ear wax removal at our Liverpool Street and London Bridge locations. Only a trained professional can perform microsuction ear wax removal to safely and effectively clear ear wax.

State-of-the-art Equipment
To enhance your safety and comfort, Hearology exclusively uses ENT surgical binocular microscopes for all procedures.
These microscopes provide our specialists with the high-resolution, three-dimensional view. This is essential for precise work in the confined space of the ear canal. Unlike most ear clinics that rely on magnifying goggles, our microscopes offer superior accuracy and detail.
Additionally, we are among the few clinics that utilise ENT-grade suction units. These are quieter, safer, and provide more controlled suction compared to standard portable units. We use sterile, single-use suction tubes and tips for every procedure for optimal hygiene and patient safety.

Please note that we do not offer a reduced “consultation-only” price if no blockage is found. This is because investigating the causes of any perceived blockage is an essential part of our service. This investigation is conducted through our Ear Health Consultation, which is priced at £89.
On rare occasions, it may not be possible to completely clean your ears during the first session. This can typically be because of stubborn wax or sensitivity. In such cases, we offer a complimentary follow-up appointment within two weeks of your initial visit.
We also charge a fixed price regardless of whether one ear or both require treatment. At Hearology, appointments are scheduled to prepare for the cleaning of both ears. This is to ensure you receive the same high-quality service, even if only one ear needs attention.

If There’s No Microscope, Then It’s Not Microsuction
The microsuction technique gets its name from the use of a microscope during the procedure. The microscope plays a crucial role, not only offering exceptional visual detail but also providing depth-of-field awareness.
This depth perception is essential for accurately identifying the location of the eardrum. Without it, safe and precise treatment becomes much more difficult. At Hearology, we exclusively use ENT-grade microscopes to ensure the highest safety standards. This is unlike many others who rely on goggles, which lack the same precision and depth-of-field capability.
